Off to DC

So Torry finally got an internship at a company called Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS for short). It is located in Washington DC just down the street from the White House. A lot of people ask us what the company does, and what we tell them is that Torry is in the HR department of a political think tank. When politicians have a platform that they need information on, they come to CSIS and they try to give them all the information that anyone could ever want on that topic. It's a pretty big company and it is pretty well known throughout the world. (The company even has two real Terracotta Warriors in the lobby that were given to the CEO from the Chinese Ambassador as a gift) Overall, a good company to get to meet important people. This was a great things for us, but there is one bad side- we had to drive 34 hours to get there. Well, that meant packing up the car and starting an endless drive! We started off in Logan, UT and decided to cut it in 8 1/2 hour chunks.  We stopped in Sidney, Nebraska the first night, Kansas City, Missouri the second night (Thanks Caetie!), Frankfort, Kentcky the third night and the Springfield, Virginia the last night! But the total state count is 10! Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and then finally Virginia! Quite the adventure! Paige was alright through the whole trip. We were sardined into the backseat but it took lots of food and toys to convince her it was fun. We also don't have air conditioning so it was like a 90 degree trip. A long trip, but we made it here safely, and all went well! We were just glad our car made it without a hitch.
Torry did all of the driving. We thought that we were going to switch off but then we realized that Torry was much taller than I am and we didn't leave him enough space in the backseat. (I was alright with that though, I'm not a huge fan of driving)

She slept like this most of the way. A pillow over her face.

She is trying to be like daddy and carry a baby on her shoulders. It was so cute, she did it all herself!

Welcome to Virginia!
